The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Green Line opens in time for Northern Spark!

On June 14 and 15, all buses and LRT rides are FREE. Jump on and ride!

Please note: Metro Transit does not run all night. LRT Green Line service runs 24 hours. LRT Blue Line service ends at 1 am and resumes at 5 am. Bus routes end at varying times.

LRT 

Zone E [Greenway] to Zone B [W River Parkway]
Blue Line – Lake Street station to Downtown Metrodome station.
Walk to riverfront.

Zone E [Greenway] to Zone F [University]
Blue Line – Lake Street station to Downtown Metrodome station.
Transfer to Green Line to University – East Bank station. 

Zone C [Downtown] to Zone F [University]
Green Line – Nicollet Mall station to University – East Bank station. 

BUS

Zone B [W River Parkway] to Zone A/C [Downtown]
Catch 11 southbound at Hennepin Avenue and First Street NE (last ride at 11:45 pm) or catch 10 southbound at Second Avenue S and Second Street S (last ride at 11:30 pm).

Zone C [Downtown] to Zone D [Walker/Loring]
Catch 17 westbound at Nicollet Avenue and Grant Street, then the 4 northbound from Lyndale Avenue S and 24th Street W (last ride at 12 midnight). Walking west along W Grant Street is the fastest way to get from Zone B to Zone C. 

Zone D [Walker/Loring] to Zone E [MIA/MCAD/Greenway]
Catch 11 southbound at W Grant Street and Nicollet Avenue (last ride at 1 am).

Zone E [MIA/MCAD/Greenway] to Zone F [University]
Catch 2 eastbound at Third Avenue S and Franklin Avenue E (last ride at 12:30 am).

Zone F [University] to Zone B [W River Parkway]
Catch 7 northbound at 21st Avenue S and Riverside Avenue (last ride at 11:45 pm).

PLEASE NOTE: Only the Green Line LRT runs all night at Northern Spark. Metro Transit buses and Blue Line LRT do not run all night.

Resources for Cyclists

Cycling is a great way to cover a lot of ground and gain easy access to the art throughout the night. If you bike to Northern Spark, don’t forget a safety light, helmet and bike lock. 

Need to park? 

Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition is hosting a corral for bike parking on West River Parkway near the Third Ave bridge. Swing by the corral for a quick fix, pump up, or good chat about a more bicycle friendly city.

The City of Minneapolis is providing bike racks at Convention Center Plaza. 

Got a flat?

Stop by one of the three official Northern Spark Info Hubs to pump up your tires with air courtesy of Alley Cat Cycles. Or swing through one of the following partner locations for air and bike first-aid:

• Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition is on W River Parkway.

• Alley Cat Cycle in the Loring Corners will be open for any last minute fix-it needs, air, and even some cool tutorials.

• Freewheel Midtown Bike Center on the Greenway will staff a mechanic until 10:30 pm.

 Nice Ride – Check out Nice Ride, the Twin Cities bike share system. A 24-hour subscription with unlimited trips (of 30 minutes or less) is only $6. Nice Ride stations convenient to festival venues are marked on all festival maps.

Parking

Park near your starting point and walk, bus, and bike throughout the night. Parking ramps and lots are marked in each zone.
Please note that Second Avenue in front of the Convention Center Plaza will be closed to traffic from 8 am on June 14 until 12 noon on June 15.
