Ego Sum
Ego Sum is a sculptural drawing project by Benjamin Entner, blending the boundaries and interplay between two and three dimensional methods of art making. One enormous, inflatable drawing is installed by the Guthrie Theater along West River Parkway. The drawing is site-specific, relating to its location with playful parodies of art historical precedents.
Entner anticipates the viewers’ experience and creates installations that make the audience aware of themselves as they relate to the sculptural drawings. Ego Sum at Northern Spark brings a larger-than-life sculptural drawing into an unexpected space. See a nude Hamlet towering next to the Guthrie Theater. Entner’s work inspires wonder, nostalgia and humor with his figurative art historical parodies.
